A Powerful Tool

I've been wanting to talk about shame for a long time, to really dig into it, invite curiosity and dare I say wonder into the nuance it holds within our minds, bodies and culture. For years I've danced around it, watched it get triggered and realized how most people don't want to talk about it at all. I can see how powerful shame is at supporting systems of oppression; Brene Brown called it an epidemic of our culture during a Ted Talk back in 2012. Since then I've found my own way and understanding around this powerful emotion. Shame isn't exactly a dinner party topic, yet it's finding it's way into conversations I'm having lately. My hope is to see a dissolution of shame about our shame and have it replaced with the curiosity I know is possible to cultivate.
